13-year-old Nate Foster (Rueby Wood) is obsessed with Broadway theater and the spotlight of the stage. He’s also a less-than-popular Pittsburgh middle schooler and punching bag for his older brother Anthony (Joshua Bassett), who is a popular jock. When Nate doesn’t get the lead in the school musical, he and friend Libby (Aria Brooks) take a bus to New York City so Nate can participate in an open audition for a musical version of LILO & STITCH. While in town, he also seeks to connect with his mother’s estranged sister, Aunt Heidi (Lisa Kudrow), who is also an actor. Things get complicated when Nate gets a callback, and his brother realizes he’s missing. Will he get to be the Better Nate?
