Plaza is is Emily, a working class gal who has a few priors on her record, making it difficult to find decent employment, despite college and a talent in art. Saddled with legal and school debt, she takes her catering co-worker’s advice and gets involved with a shady credit card fraudster named Youcef (Theo Rossi). Enjoying the payday, Emily seeks larger scores, and the inevitable troublesome situations arise, but strikingly Emily is somewhat prepared.

“Emily the Criminal” opens in theaters on August 12th. Featuring Aubrey Plaza, Theo Rossi, Megalyn Echikunwoke and Bernardo Badillo. Written and directed by John Patton Ford. Rated “R”
