The creators of this new “A League of Their Own” – one of whom is Abbi Jacobson, who is also the main character – made the right choice of creating a whole new universe involving the Rockford Peaches of the All-American Girls baseball league, and as a twist added a story about Black Americans trying to survive during the World War II era. Jacobson is Carson Shaw, the team catcher and married to a solider at war. Chanté Adams is Maxine, a talented pitcher who is not allowed to be on the team because she’s black. Their stories eventually intersect, as the Peaches strive toward the championship.
