In 1973, thirty years after the events of “A Christmas Story,” Ralphie returns to his former home in Hohman, Indiana (based on source author Jean Shepard’s Hammond, Indiana, hometown). With him is his wife Sandy (Erinn Hayes) and children, visiting his widowed mother (Julie Hagerty) after the passing of the Old Man (the late Darrin McGavin in flashback from the original film). Desiring to give his mother, wife and kids a Christmas the Old Man would be proud of, Ralphie soon realizes that the task is much more difficult than when he was a child.
