Film Review: ‘Strays’ Poops Out on Its Hard-R Talking Dog Premise
CHICAGO – “Strays” is a film that features a cast full of legitimately funny people, but this Hard-R-Rated talking dog movie poops out long before the final credits roll. The film tries to have heart, but is too busy making labored poo-poo jokes to give the schmaltz much gusto. !—break—>

Will Ferrell voices Reggie, a scruffy Benji-like dog who is abandoned by his bong loving owner (Will Forte) in a city far from home. He meets up with a stray Boston Terrier (Jaimie Foxx), who shows the new dog the ropes of life on the streets. They’re joined by Australian Shepherd (Isla Fisher) and Great Dane (Randall Park) who have their own emotional issues. The pooches embark on a journey to get Reggie back to his owner and take revenge.
