CHICAGO – Opening Night of the 40th Chicago International Children’s Film Festival’s (CICFF40) is November 3rd, and Festival Director Deidre Searcy presents a night at Chicago History Museum. For details/tickets, click CICFF.
CICFF40 is the largest and longest running children’s film festival in the United States. Opening Night will include a special guest appearance by Academy Award winning filmmaker, Matthew Cherry (“Hair Love”), who will be honored for his contributions to the field of children’s films. The rest of the festival will feature film programs including highly anticipated festival shorts, multiple premieres, and a celebration of diverse stories for and about children that will inspire audiences to discover more about themselves and the world around them. CICFF40 lasts through November 19th, 2023.

The facilitator of CICFF is FACETS. For nearly 50 years, FACETS has been a leading arthouse cinema, media education center, and one of the largest non-profit film organizations in Chicago.
