Audio Film Review: Dad’s Final Journey in ‘His Three Daughters’
CHICAGO – Patrick McDonald of HollywoodChicago.com audio film review for “His Three Daughters,” a passionate exploration of the hospice stage of life, and how it affects the three women of the title, as Dad is dying. Currently in theaters or streaming on Netflix beginning on September 20th.
Rating: 5.0/5.0 |
The three women of the title are Katie (Carrie Coon), Christina (Elizabeth Olsen) and Rachel (Natasha Lyonne), and they are gathered together reluctantly to care for their father in New York City as he enters hospice … the final healthcare stage of death. The daughters of Vincent (Jay O. Sanders) are far-flung, with Katie nearby but an impatient mess, out-of-town Christina still in bliss over her 3-year-old daughter and half-sister Rachel as a pot smoking, online bettor who has been taking care of Vincent throughout his illness. The clash of wills in a confined apartment in mourning will take its toll.
