Interview: Sister Act ‘Larkin Poe’ on New Album ‘Self Made Man’

CHICAGO – Larkin Poe features sisters Rebecca and Megan Lowell, who are singer/songwriters and multi-instrumentalists creating their own brand of rock ’n roll … rooted in grit, soul, and their southern heritage flavor. Originally from Atlanta and currently living in Nashville, they are descendants of tortured artist and creative genius Edgar Allan Poe.

CHICAGO – Closing Night of the 55th Chicago International Film Festival was a celebration of a great one, the legendary Blues Man Buddy Guy, who came to Chicago in 1957 and made his mark on music from then on and forever. Filmmaker Jim Farrell captures it all in “The Torch,” the Closing Night documentary.

Torch, The

CHICAGO – Closing Night at the 55th Chicago International Film Festival will have a decidedly Chicago-centric feel. The legendary Buddy Guy, the Blues guitar man from Louisiana – who made his mark in the South Side clubs of the Windy City, and then internationally – is the subject of a new documentary, “The Torch,” which is directed by Jim Farrell.

CHICAGO – The Chicago International Film Festival has always been a proponent of local filmmaking, and the 53rd edition of the Fest had a special Red Carpet for a Chicago film. “Chasing the Blues” was filmed in the Windy City, with stars Jon Lovitz, Grant Rosenmeyer and director Scott Smith, who all walked the Carpet on October 14th, 2017. HollywoodChicago.com interviewed the principle cast and crew before the world premiere of “Chasing the Blues” at the festival.
