Year Between, The

CHICAGO – It’s been an amazing journey for actor and filmmaker Alex Heller with her directorial debut film “The Year Between.” The film premiered at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival and screened at the hometown Chicago International Film Festival last October. The film is being released through Video-On-Demand beginning March 3rd, 2023.

CHICAGO – Molly Hewitt is an artist from England who has created a whole world of “Glamhag,” the catch-all term for an inclusive celebration of gender fluidity and performance. Hewitt has a Chicago Premiere as a director (and title character) in the film “Holy Trinity” on September 27th, 2019, at the Music Box Theatre.

CHICAGO – For the past five years, the film house of Full Spectrum Features have been presenting and then distributing a program of short films, which are based in Chicago and features the rising filmmaking talent in the Windy City. Chicagoland Shorts Vol. 3

CHICAGO – One the top filmmaker organizations of Chicago is Full Spectrum Features. The non-profit production and exhibition collective has made their “Chicagoland Shorts” series (Vol. 1 & 2) a representation of diverse Windy City creativity, applying their mission statement of supporting minority, female and LGBTQ filmmakers in that mix. “Chicagoland Shorts Vol. 3” will have its World Premiere on May 30th, 2017, at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) in downtown Chicago, as announced by the Program Director of Full Spectrum Features, Dane Haiken. The screening begins at 6pm, and is free and open to the public.

Chicagoland Shorts Vol. 2

CHICAGO – Full Spectrum Features is one of new production outlets in town, but they are quickly making a mark. Their goal is to get the quality filmmaking that takes place in Chicago to a wider audience, and they are about to launch “Chicagoland Shorts Vol. 2,” continuing from their Vol. 1 success. Vol. 2 will premiere on Saturday, May 14th, 2016, at the Facets Cinémathéque on the city’s north side, and have a run there through May 19th. Patrick McDonald of HollywoodChicago.com will moderate a Q&A after the premiere screening.
