TV News: CBS Wins Thursday Nights, Audiences Check Out ‘Elementary,’ ‘Last Resort’
Submitted by BrianTT on September 28, 2012 - 8:35amCHICAGO – Two of our most promising new shows of 2012 were respectably sampled last night on the first Thursday of the Fall season as viewers turned “Elementary” into a solid first-week hit and enough people checked out “Last Resort” opposite the #1 show of the evening to call that a success as well. CBS won the night easily while ABC has plenty to be happy about. FOX should be more concerned and NBC may just want to go dark on the night that they used to own in the ratings.
TV Review: NBC’s ‘Saving Hope’ Takes Supernatural Approach to Hospital Melodrama
Submitted by BrianTT on June 7, 2012 - 10:32amCHICAGO – If the pitch line of “Ghost meets Grey’s Anatomy” sounds like something that intrigues you, NBC has a show for your melodramatic soul, the often-nauseatingly cliched and over-done “Saving Hope,” a Canadian import filling the black hole on Thursday nights that this network used to dominate but now only brings ratings sadness.
TV News: ABC Fall Schedule Includes Four New Shows, New Nights For ‘Revenge,’ ‘Happy Endings’
Submitted by BrianTT on May 15, 2012 - 9:31amCHICAGO – After an incredibly successful 2011-2012 season, ABC is doing something of a victory lap by not changing much of what worked about a season that saw the network create a number of new hits, including “Revenge,” “Once Upon a Time,” and “Suburgatory.”
TV News: ABC Renews Seven Shows Including ‘Once Upon a Time,’ ‘Revenge,’ ‘Suburgatory’
Submitted by BrianTT on May 10, 2012 - 7:16pmCHICAGO – In advance of next week’s official Fall schedule announcement, ABC gave a vote of confidence to seven of their biggest shows, revealing that they will be a part of the 2012-2013 schedule. The lucky seven include three freshman series — “Once Upon a Time,” “Revenge,” and “Suburgatory” — along with “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Castle,” “Modern Family,” and “The Middle.”
TV News: ABC Announces Early Pick-Ups Including ‘Castle,’ ‘Modern Family’
Submitted by BrianTT on January 10, 2011 - 9:43pmCHICAGO – Fans of ABC’s often-struggling “Cougar Town” had to wait until the eleventh hour last year to find out that their favorite show would be given a second chance with a sophomore season. Not so this year. In a surprising move, “Cougar Town” got the nod for an early pick-up for the 2011-12 season. Less surprising were the also-announced renewals of “Castle,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “The Middle,” “Modern Family,” and “Private Practice.”
TV Review: ‘Fringe’ Deserves Attention on Crowded Thursday Nights
Submitted by BrianTT on November 19, 2009 - 12:52pmCHICAGO – “Fringe” is one of the best shows that people aren’t watching. The writing is strong, dare I say better than “Lost,” and the cast is even stronger. Like every show, “Fringe” has had some really great and not so great episodes, but overall the series is great, as proven by tonight’s strong installment entitled “August”.

ABC Renews ‘Castle,’ ‘Scrubs’; Cancels ‘The Unusuals,’ ‘Cupid’
Submitted by BrianTT on May 19, 2009 - 1:04pmCHICAGO – ABC is still struggling to find the next big hit to stand next to monsters like “Lost,” “Desperate Housewives,” and “Grey’s Anatomy,” and they decided to give Nathan Fillion & Stana Katic’s “Castle” a shot at hit status, but cancelled several other new shows, including “The Unusuals” and “Cupid”.
