CHICAGO – Rock royalty is coming to town, both in the presence of Jakob Dylan (The Wallflowers) and in a new documentary where Dylan explores the roots of the California rock sound of the 1960s, entitled “Echo in the Canyon” (many of the rockers back then lived in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Laurel Canyon). Director Andrew Slater will join Dylan for the film perspective, and Dylan will perform after the screening, taking place on June 21st, 2019, at the historic Music Box Theatre. NEW YORK CITY – He was the helmsman of “The Silence of the Lambs,” which won him Best Director and took home Best Picture at the 1992 Academy Awards, and made numerous other late 20th Century movie classics. Director Jonathan Demme died in New York City on April 26, 2017, at the age of 73.

CHICAGO – Jewel Kilcher has a long resume of accomplishments in her 20 year career as a singer/songwriter, producer, actress and poet/author. She has just released a new memoir entitled “Never Broken: Songs Are Only Half the Story,” right next to her new album, “Picking Up the Pieces.” She appeared on behalf of the book at North Central College in Naperville, Ill., presented by Anderson’s Book Shop.
