TV Review: Television Has Evolved Beyond NBC’s ‘Chicago PD’

There’s a fine line between old-fashioned and stale. Some will look at “Chicago PD,” NBC’s spin-off of “Chicago Fire” from mega-producer Dick Wolf, and say that it’s the kind of tried-and-true cop show that they don’t really make that often any more. I would say there’s a reason they don’t make them any more.

TV Review: Scattered ‘Scoundrels’ Has Great Cast, Weak Writing

CHICAGO – Based on a hit New Zealand series entitled “Outrageous Fortune,” ABC’s “Scoundrels” is a hit-and-miss affair at best. The network is aggressively trying to counterprogram new series against the summer cable hits like “Mad Men,” “Royal Pains,” and “The Closer,” but viewers are unlikely to return for a show as inconsistent as this one without some major changes.
