The Secret Circle

TV News: The CW Renews ‘Nikita,’ ‘Hart of Dixie,’ ‘Gossip Girl,’ Cancels ‘The Secret Circle,’ ‘Ringer’

Hart of Dixie

CHICAGO – Well, now this is a bit unpredictable. While the other networks have fallen relatively in line with predictions (CBS, NBC, and ABC have yet to do anything that we didn’t predict in our feature earlier this week), The CW is shaking it up a bit as they just announced the renewal of “Nikita,” “Hart of Dixie,” and “Gossip Girl” (for a sixth and final season of 11 episodes) while TV By the Numbers reports that the network has signed on five new dramas. Where do they put them?

TV News: The CW Announces ‘The L.A. Complex’ Premiere, Several Finale Dates

One Tree Hill season 7

CHICAGO- The CW officially announced its schedule of finale episodes today, as well as the premiere date of a new series. The new series “The L.A. Complex” is set to premiere on Tuesday, April 24, while several shows, including the series finale of “One Tree Hill,” have their finale date set.

TV News: CW Orders Full Seasons of ‘Hart of Dixie,’ ‘Ringer,’ ‘The Secret Circle’

Ringer

CHICAGO – None are doing well by traditional ratings scales but The CW doesn’t have the same expectations as other networks and so they not-too-surprisingly gave full-season orders to new shows “Hart of Dixie,” “Ringer,” and “The Secret Circle” this week, ending speculation that one might be canceled. Given the low ratings for all of them, especially “Secret,” one can safely assume that they had nothing interesting waiting in the wings to replace them.

TV Feature: Fall 2011 New Network Series Bubble Watch

CHICAGO – It feels like only yesterday that we were naming the most promising shows of 2011 (and would like to point out that our #1 was the first program given a full-season order for just one second).

TV Review: The CW’s ‘The Secret Circle’ Fails to Cast a Spell

CHICAGO – Audiences are too smart for “The Secret Circle.” Sure, they bought in when The CW presented “The Vampire Diaries” on the heels of the “Twilight” phenomenon but that is a fast-paced, sexy, and sometimes-clever show. You can hook them by piggybacking on a trend, but then you better have some meat on the hook. There’s no meat in “The Secret Circle,” the struggling network’s least-likely shot at a new hit.

WGN Radio

CHICAGO – Brian Tallerico appears on Bill Moller’s program on Saturday, September 10th, 2011 to review “Rebirth,” “The Space Between,” “Ringer,” “Up All Night,” “The Secret Circle,” “Parenthood,” and more.

TV News: The CW Announces Fall Schedule, Details on New Shows

CHICAGO – The CW announces a relatively aggressive Fall 2011 schedule with details on four new shows, one every night for the majority of the work week. With stars like Sarah Michelle Gellar, Rachel Bilson, and Mario Lopez making their way to the struggling network, perhaps this is the year that The CW turns it around.
