CHICAGO – Patrick McDonald of HollywoodChicago.com appears on “The Morning Mess” with Scott Thompson on WBGR-FM (Monroe, Wisconsin) on December 10th, 2020, reviewing the new film “Sound of Metal,” now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

“Sound of Metal” has Ruben (Riz Ahmed), a heavy metal drummer for Blackgammon, fronted by his girlfriend Lou (Olivia Cooke). They live a carefree rock star life on the road, traveling from gig to gig in their RV. This world takes a turn when Ruben suddenly begins to profoundly lose his hearing, going from normal to about 20%. He can’t make out speech or the rigors of his drumming, and has no choice but to learn how to be deaf at a halfway house.
