CHICAGO – Patrick McDonald of HollywoodChicago.com appears on “The Morning Mess” with Dan Baker on WBGR-FM (Monroe, Wisconsin) on December 31st, 2020, reviewing the new film “One Night in Miami,” which is in theaters now, and on Amazon Prime Video on January 15th.

The film is a fictional account of a meeting between four real men, which in reality did take place on February 25, 1964. Cassius Clay AKA Muhammad Ali (Eli Goree), Malcolm X (Kingsley Ben-Adir), Pro Footballer Jim Brown (Aldis Hodge) and singer Sam Cooke (Leslie Odom Jr) met on the night when the 22-year-old Ali beat Sonny Liston. This period is recreated faithfully by first time director Regina King, including the Clay/Liston fight, and the meeting has all four men at crossroads in their lives.
