CHICAGO – Patrick McDonald of HollywoodChicago.com audio film review on the new release by Chicago’s Kartemquin Films, “Unapologetic,” premiering at the Gene Siskel Film Center in Chicago on August 20th, 2021.

The title refers to the activism of black women, who have taken leadership roles in the protests, targeting the law enforcement crimes against the community. Black women have become the most educated group in America, “Unapologetic” profiles two such achievers. Janáe Bonsu is an organizer for BLACK YOUTH PROJECT 100 (BYP), focusing on black, feminist and queer issues. Bella is an activist rapper, or “raptivist,” who uses her talent for street protest and advocacy.
