CHICAGO – Patrick McDonald of HollywoodChicago.com appears on “The Morning Mess” with Scott Thompson on WBGR-FM (Monroe, Wisconsin) on January 27th, 2022, reviewing the the adaptation of “The Tragedy of Macbeth” by Joel Coen, in select theaters now and streaming on Apple TV Plus.
MacBeth (Denzel Washington) is an ambitious Scottish warrior who seeks the crown of King Duncan (Brendan Gleeson), which is foretold by three witches he meets after a battle. His scheming wife Lady MacBeth (Frances McDormand) convinces him to kill Duncan, and take his rightful place. His kingdom is plagued by guilt and madness, which eventually affects Lady MacBeth, who tries to wash off a damned “spot” on her own soul.
