CHICAGO – Patrick McDonald of HollywoodChicago.com appears on “The Morning Mess” with Scott Thompson on WBGR-FM (Monroe, Wisconsin) on March 31st, reviewing “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” written and directed by “The Daniels” (Dan Kwan and Daniel Scheinert), in theaters beginning April 1st.
Michelle Yeoh is Evelyn, the co-owner with her husband Waymond (Ke Huy Quan) of a laundromat, who is in the midst of getting a party together for her visiting father Gong (James Hong) and preparing for an auditor (Jamie Lee Curtis) from the IRS. The terrible relationship with her daughter Joy (Stephanie Hsu) isn’t helping, plus Joy wants to tell Gramps that she is dating a woman. The chaos is made more chaotic as Evelyn is brought into multi-universe versions of herself. Yes, the film explores her split personalities in multiple realms of existence, but instead of being different people, she takes on and absorbs all of them at once.
