CHICAGO – Patrick McDonald of HollywoodChicago.com audio film review on “The Bad Guys,” the latest cartoony film from Dreamworks Animation, featuring the voices of Sam Rockwell, Awkafina, Alex Borstein and Zazie Beetz, among others, and in theaters on April 22nd.

This a take-off of “Oceans 11,” populated with what the world considers the villains of the animal kingdom, portrayed as a gang of robbers … the leader is Mr. Wolf (voice of Sam Rockwell), aided by Mr. Snake (Marc Maron), Ms. Tarantula (Awkwafina), Mr. Piranha (Anthony Ramos) and Mr. Shark (Craig Robinson). They steal at will, much to the chagrin of Los Angeles Police Chief Misty (Alex Borstein) and Governor Foxington (Zazie Beetz), who vow to bring them to justice. When a guinea pig named Professor Marmalade (Richard Ayoade) is about to receive a golden trophy as a “good guy” prize, the gang has to steal it, which gives the professor the opportunity to turn them from bad to good.
