CHICAGO – Patrick McDonald of HollywoodChicago.com appears on The Eddie Volkman Show with Hannah B on WSSR-FM (Star 96.7 Joliet, Illinois) on May 20th, 2022, reviewing the new release, “Chip ’n Dale: Rescue Rangers,” a reboot of the late 1980s/‘90s cartoon series featuring gumshoe chipmunks, streaming on Disney+ beginning on May 20th.

Chip ’n Dale, the animated chipmunks who first emerged in 1943 in a Walt Disney Studios Pluto the Dog cartoon, were reinvented as cartoon detectives on TV in the late 1980s/‘90s as “Chip ’n Dale: Rescue Rangers.” In the film the duo are reunited in modern times for another case, with Chip (voice of John Mulaney) still in 2D cartoon form, and Dale (Andy Samberg) converted with CGI makeover. The case, similar to “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?,” but dealing with bootleg cartoons … the in-joke for the adults … features cameos from other toon heroes in the Disney catalog.
