CHICAGO – Patrick McDonald of HollywoodChicago.com appears on “The Morning Mess” with Scott Thompson on WBGR-FM (Monroe, Wisconsin) on June 30th, reviewing “Marcel the Shell with Shoes On,” an expansion of the popular YouTube series featuring Jenny Slate. In select theaters starting July 1st..

Comic actor Slate is the voice of Marcel, a Shell that lives in an abandoned home – a couple has left it pending divorce – who tells his story to a documentary filmmaker (Dean Fleischer-Camp, a co-creator), and Marcel’s musings become viral videos (mirroring real life). The premise is his family has been swept away, leaving only his Granny Connie (Isabella Rossellini) and his burgeoning fame. As Granny starts to get ill, only Lesley Stahl from 60 MINUTES can save them.
