CHICAGO – Patrick McDonald of HollywoodChicago.com audio film review on “Fourth of July,” a new film co-written (with lead actor Joe List) and directed by exiled comedian Louis C.K.. It opened in select theaters on July 1st, 2022, see local listings.

List is Jeff, a jazz pianist and recovering alcoholic who is constantly haranguing his therapist (Louis C.K.) about his parents. When he gets the annual invite to the summer cabin of Mom (Paula Plum) and Dad (Robert Walsh), he decides to attend without his wife Beth (Sarah Tollemache), in order to finally confront his parents about their lack of open affection towards him. Can he do it in front of his loud Bostonian relatives? Wicked ya pisser.
