Rating: 4.0/5.0 |
CHICAGO – Patrick McDonald of HollywoodChicago.com appears on “The Morning Mess” with Scott Thompson on WBGR-FM (Monroe, Wisconsin) on August 11th, reviewing “Emily the Criminal,” featuring Aubrey Plaza (“Parks and Recreation). The film is in theaters beginning August 12th.
Plaza is is Emily, a working class gal who has a few priors on her record, making it difficult to find decent employment, despite college and a talent in art. Saddled with legal and school debt, she takes her catering co-worker’s advice and gets involved with a shady credit card fraudster named Youcef (Theo Rossi). Enjoying the payday, Emily seeks larger scores, and the inevitable troublesome situations arise, but strikingly Emily is somewhat prepared.
