CHICAGO – Patrick McDonald of HollywoodChicago.com appears on “The Morning Mess” with Dan Baker on WBGR-FM (Monroe, Wisconsin) on September 1st, 2022. reviewing “Gigi & Nate,” a connection story between a troubled young man and his service monkey. The film is in theaters beginning September 2nd.

Charlie Rowe portrays Nate Gibson, a teen who unexpectedly develops meningitis, nearly killing him but causing lower limb paralysis and years of physical therapy. After a suicide attempt, his parents Claire and Dan (portrayed by Marcia Gay Harden and Jim Belushi) connect him with GIGI (Allie the Capuchin Monkey) through a service animal organization. The healing begins as the two bond, but forces outside the family work to sever the duo through protest against the use of monkeys as service animals.
