CHICAGO – Patrick McDonald of HollywoodChicago.com appears on “The Morning Mess” with Scott Thompson on WBGR-FM (Monroe, Wisconsin) on December 29th, 2022, reviewing “The Whale” a new film by director Darren Aronofsky (“The Black Swan”), currently in theaters.

Brendan Fraser portrays Charlie, an obese recluse who teaches online English courses. When his nurse friend Liz (Hong Chau) diagnoses Charlie with congestive heart failure because of his weight, instead of going to the hospital Charlie decides to spend his dying days making amends with the former people in his life, including his estranged daughter Ellie (Sadie Sink) and ex wife Mary (Samantha Morton). This leads to some uncomfortable truths revealed, a portion of which involves a door to door missionary named Thomas (Ty Simpkins).
