CHICAGO – Patrick McDonald of HollywoodChicago.com appears on “The Morning Mess” with Scott Thompson on WBGR-FM (Monroe, Wisconsin) on April13th, reviewing “Reinfield,” featuring Nicolas Cage seemingly in a part he was born to play. In theaters on April 14th.
Cage is Dracula, everyone’s favorite immortal vampire, with his legendary faithful assistant, the British Renfield (Nicholas Hoult). Basically Renfield is responsible for Drac’s care and feeding, which includes recruiting the human flesh and blood the demon needs to survive. They met in the early 20th Century, then find themselves 100 years later in modern day New Orleans. There they encounter Crime Lord Ted Lobo (Ben Schwartz), who is being pursued by police officer Rebecca (Awkwafina). While Dracula is recovering his strength in the Big Easy, Renfield is seeking self help groups to break up his toxic master/employee relationship.
