CHICAGO – Patrick McDonald of HollywoodChicago.com appears on “The Morning Mess” with Dan Baker on WBGR-FM (Monroe, Wisconsin) on November 30th, 2023, reviewing “Maestro,” co-written, directed by and starring Bradley Cooper as Leonard Bernstein. In theaters on December 1st, 2023.

“Maestro” is not much of a linear biography but a series of scenes in the conductor’s life having to do with this relationship with his wife Felicia Montealegre (Carey Mulligan). From their early days to the end, Lenny and Felicia had a difficult and fiery relationship, while through agreement they ignore Bernstein’s penchant for gay relationships. In the meantime, Leonard Bernstein had a legendary music career, which included conducting the New York Philharmonic Orchestra and writing the music for West Side Story.
