CHICAGO – Patrick McDonald of HollywoodChicago.com appears on “The Morning Mess” with Scott Thompson on WBGR-FM (Monroe, Wisconsin) on August 8th, reviewing “The Instigators,” featuring Matt Damon and Mr Affleck (not that one, Casey) in a Boston heist caper. In select theaters and streaming on Apple TV+ beginning August 9th.
Damon portrays Rory, a Boston-based divorced Dad who is behind on his child support. An ex-con connection named Cobby (Casey Affleck) gets the desperate-for-money Rory involved in a heist, stealing from the corrupt mayor of Boston (Ron Perlman) through the hot headed leader Mr. Besegai (Michael Stuhlbarg). Things go South quickly, and the reluctant partners Rory and Cobby find themselves on the lam, using creative solutions to dodge both law enforcement and angry Mr. B. Can they right the sinking sink with the help of Rory’s shrink Dr. Donna (Hong Chau)?
