CHICAGO – Patrick McDonald of HollywoodChicago.com audio film review for “The Wild Robot” a new animated film release adapted/directed by Chris Sanders and featuring the voices of Lupita Nyong’o, Pedro Pascal, Stephanie Hsu and Kit Connor. In theaters September 27th.

Lupita N-yong’o is the voice of the Rozzum Unit 7134 or “Roz” a robot that exists in the distant future, that ends up on a remote island after falling off a cargo ship and washing ashore. The island is isolated from humans, and contains abundant animal life of several species. Roz is programmed to serve humans, but eventually gains the friendship of a wily Fox named Fink (Pedro Pascal), after wrestling a goose egg from the animal’s mouth. The egg hatches under Roz’s care, and the gosling is Brightbill (Kit Connor), a runt from a litter that had been destroyed. It is up to a mechanical robot and her animal friends to become a Mom and family to an orphan bird, while the Universal Dynamics Company wants their product back.
