I.S.S. stands for the International Space Station, the real-life low orbit satellite that is the largest such station ever built, and this fictional film focuses on the United States NASA and the Russian “RosCosmos” participants. Kira (Adriana DeBose of “West Side Story”) begins her mission, evening out the crew at three Americans and three Russians. When an incident on earth indicates a nuclear war exchange, the last communiques from each of the country’s mission controls is to take over the space station … by any means necessary.
