CHICAGO – There is no better time to take in a stage play that is based in U.S. history, depicting the battle between fact and religion. HollywoodChicago.com film critic Patrick McDonald wrote in his 2.5 out of 5.0 review of the new film “Meet Dave” with Eddie Murphy, Elizabeth Banks and Gabrielle Union:
The subplot in “Meet Dave” is too complicated for a film of this type. It drags the entire story down with it. However, this did give the screenwriters an excuse to camp up the situation.
