(If this movie gets made, I want to go on record as having made the first “We Didn’t Start the Fire” reference. Or maybe I shouldn’t.)

IESB reported that the movie, which so many speculated couldn’t survive the writers strike, was going in limbo:

Now IGN reports (via an insider to News.com.au) that, delay or no delay, the entire cast is down in Sydney:

'JLA' Axe to Come in Two Days

IESB, which apparently has a good source in the production, reports that the inability to tweak the JLA script might cause the production to delay until April/May, if not being scrapped altogether, and that the decision will be made next week.

Crews have been told that if problems don’t get fixed within the next few days, pre-production will come to a halt, a decision is expected by mid-week.

Also of note: non-union comic writer might be brought on.

For the last few weeks we have been hearing the certain big studio comic book adaptations may be hiring non-WGA comic book writers to come aboard as producers and/or consultants and that will allow for any minor changes to the script to be done by them or by other non-WGA production staff.

Ain't That the Question

It was on this year’s Black List. But I’m sure it has to be tailored.

I keep pointing this out to show my excitement: This is technically the first action movie George Miller’s directing by himself since Road Warrior.
