Here is the “Are We There Yet?” synopsis:

A new family is moving to TBS on Wednesday nights. The Kingston-Persons family is at the center of the new TBS original sitcom “Are We There Yet?”. It’s a new series based on the Revolution Studios movie of the same name. “Are We There Yet?” is executive produced by Ice Cube (“Friday” and “Barbershop”) and stars Terry Crews (“Everybody Hates Chris”) and Essence Atkins (“Half and Half”) as a newly married couple whose blended family faces the challenges of everyday life. “Are We There Yet?” premieres on Wednesday, June 2 with back-to-back episodes at 9 and 9:30 p.m. (ET/PT).

“Are We There Yet?” opens where the popular film left off with Nick (Crews) and Suzanne (Atkins) newly married. After six months, their family is beginning to show growing pains from the complexities of life as newlyweds to weathering the storm of teenage children. Work makes life all the more complicated. Former athlete Nick has sold his sports paraphernalia store and now works in information technology. Party planner Suzanne also has a hectic professional schedule.

Togetherness

I think many American families struggle with togetherness. Parents are busy working one if not two jobs each, and their children are constantly on the move. It seems that these days families rarely spend time together without some kind of reason for congregating.

Challenges for Family

Staying a cohesive, supportive unit, and keeping the family’s values among the chaos and distraction that certain aspects of life can bring.

Better sence of how important your family really is.

Yes I think families need to spend more quality time together. Both parents and children need to learn how to respect each other. Children don’t think you know every thing, after all your parent do have some years on you. Parents
your children have their own identities and you should respect that. In the end it makes for a lot less stressful environment.

Staying together

The most challenging aspect of the U.S. family today, is staying together as a family unit. Keeping a roof over their heads, and coming together as a family.
