I would make sure it is safe to check the scene. A hurt investigator is not good to anyone.

At the crime scene, I would look for the perp!

The first thing I’d check at a crime scene is...

… for body parts, blood, fingerprints and any video that may have been shot. Then I’d gather the evidence and consult all the TV shows with detectives and crimes, since most criminals are pretty stupid and they probably just copied the idea from something that they saw on TV.
