End of World
Simply because we loved to be entertained.
End of the world?
I think people like these movie because, as sci-fi as it seems. It could.. maybe.. possibly.. happen. As low in probability as it is.. it’s enough to be fascinating.
End of the World
We are fascinated with End of the World films because we want to see the triumph of the human spirit over adversity.
we like to imagine what we'd do but not actually have to do it
I think we like to imagine worse case scenarios and have death-defying experiences because we want to see how we’d react and survive in a terrible situation without the actual danger.
End of the World
We like to pretend we’d be the survivors. In reality, most of us would be the first to go.
The end?
It’s all about the unknown and the future. The whole survivorist thing about what if is innate just in case it happens.
Maybe because it’s better
Maybe because it’s better (or at least more interesting) to burn out than to fade away. Just think, you wouldn’t have to worry about all the fun everyone else is going to have in your absence.
I think it’s about facing
I think it’s about facing our fear of the unknown in a safe context. Fear of “the other” is a fundamental human trait; it’s not just about media culture, it’s about human culture.
Because it gives something
Because it gives something to overcome by a certain point in time.
Fasincated because
It’s entertainment and we feel it’s not plausible
