Why are we morbidly fascinated by end-of-the-world films?

Same reason we love roller coasters. Feeling of doom, but then you walk out of the theater realizing you’re still alive. It’s a refreshing sense of “Wow, all that and I’m still here.”

END OF THE WORLD

I THINK IT IS BECAUSE WE HOPE TO LEARN WHAT WE CAN DO TO PREVENT THE END.

End Of The World

I think it’s because we are aware of our pass and what could have happened. Just remember Orsen Well’s ” War Of The World’s ” and it was only a radio broadcast. Three mile island is another case that show’s , but by the grace of God. We are making major strides in all area’s, but we are also increasing the risk for something very dangerous to bring life as we know it on this planet to an end !!!

World's End Fascination

I think deep down we all know how fragile this existance can be especially now that we are so dependent on electricity, our transportation systems, and the internet, present company excluded of course. We are all one storm, one disaster away from caves and fire.
