Midwest Independent Film Festival to Announce Best of the Midwest Awards
CHICAGO – Tuesday night, December 7th, marks the 2010 edition of the Best of the Midwest Awards, honoring the achievements of local filmmakers who participated in the Midwest Independent Film Festival this year. The festivities will take place at Rockit Bar & Grill in Chicago beginning at 7pm.
The night will feature nominees in nine categories, including Best Short Film, Best Male and Female Actors, and Best Feature. Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Midwest Indie, Mike McNamara, will host the proceedings, which will highlight the ongoing success of the film event gathering that takes place on every first Tuesday throughout the year.

Scheduled to appear at the event will be the nominees of the various categories, plus presenters and attendees including Steven Conrad (screenwriter for “The Pursuit of Happyness” and “The Weatherman”), John McNaughton (Director of “Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer”), Betsy Steinberg (Illinois Film Office), Rich Moskal (Chicago Film Office), Steve James (Creator of “Hoop Dreams”) and many surprise guests in the local and national film industry.
