Here is the plot description for “Little Fockers”:
The test of wills between Jack Byrnes (Robert De Niro) and Greg Focker (Ben Stiller) escalates to new heights of comedy in the third installment of the blockbuster series with “Little Fockers”. Laura Dern, Jessica Alba and Harvey Keitel join the returning all-star cast for a new chapter of the worldwide hit franchise.
It has taken 10 years, two little Fockers with wife Pam (Teri Polo) and countless hurdles for Greg to finally get “in” with his tightly wound father-in-law, Jack. After the cash-strapped dad takes a job moonlighting for a drug company, however, Jack’s suspicions about his favorite male nurse come roaring back.
When Greg and Pam’s entire clan – including Pam’s lovelorn ex, Kevin (Owen Wilson) – descends for the twins’ birthday party, Greg must prove to the skeptical Jack that he’s fully capable as the man of the house. But with all the misunderstandings, spying and covert missions, will Greg pass Jack’s final test and become the family’s next patriarch or will the circle of trust be broken for good?

Be yourself
I feel like everyone thinks there’s this magical potion to get your significant other’s family to like you, but the truth is you just have to be yourself. They’re going to not like you or like you on their on accord, there’s nothing you can do to influence that. If you act too chummy they might see right through you, and if you’re too laid back they might just learn to walk all over you. My remedy is just be yourself, and they’ll warm up to you in their own time. I mean, once your married in there aren’t that many places they can go to get away from you.
But...
But if that doesn’t work, make the dad feel like he’s on top of the world and calls all the shots, all while calling the shots in your own family. It’ll make you look like you hold what the dad says close to heart, and that you look to him for guidance.
