Here is the plot description for “Little Fockers”:

The test of wills between Jack Byrnes (Robert De Niro) and Greg Focker (Ben Stiller) escalates to new heights of comedy in the third installment of the blockbuster series with “Little Fockers”. Laura Dern, Jessica Alba and Harvey Keitel join the returning all-star cast for a new chapter of the worldwide hit franchise.

It has taken 10 years, two little Fockers with wife Pam (Teri Polo) and countless hurdles for Greg to finally get “in” with his tightly wound father-in-law, Jack. After the cash-strapped dad takes a job moonlighting for a drug company, however, Jack’s suspicions about his favorite male nurse come roaring back.

When Greg and Pam’s entire clan – including Pam’s lovelorn ex, Kevin (Owen Wilson) – descends for the twins’ birthday party, Greg must prove to the skeptical Jack that he’s fully capable as the man of the house. But with all the misunderstandings, spying and covert missions, will Greg pass Jack’s final test and become the family’s next patriarch or will the circle of trust be broken for good?

circle or trust

Well always the best way to get in a circle of trust is to earn it with honesty and integrity

Time

Don’t expect acceptance just because you’re with their son/daughter, and show that you’re not there to take their kid away from them by visiting and spending holidays.

Find the perfect balance

Find the perfect balance between accepting and entertaining their family dynamic and inserting some idiosyncrasies of your own. Exerting too much power is a death sentence, but so is being too weak-willed. Show that you’re enthusiastic to adapt to their family, but always make clear where your primary interest lies.

i think the best way is to hang with them and get to know them and include them in your activities as well and your own family dinners and parties.

Circle of Trust 101

Wear your heart on your sleeve

Or you know what you could do. Confess your undying love for your significant other, in a non creepy way. Then explain: that you’re nervous as hell to meet her family, but since you love her/him so much you’re willing to do anything to gain the respect of her family, and you won’t stop until you have it. Then all your cards are on the deck, and no one is going to think you have alternative motives when you’re working hard to impress them.

Circle of trust

The best way to get into the families circle of trust is to be honest to both the one you are going to marry but especially the parents. The parents are the hardest to win over. My husband never got into my families circle because they didnt think he was good enough, but luckily I got into his families circle despite the fact that I was a drug addict.
