Here is the plot description for “The Adjustment Bureau”:
Do we control our destiny or do unseen forces manipulate us? Matt Damon stars in the thriller “The Adjustment Bureau” as a man who glimpses the future fate has planned for him and realizes he wants something else. To get it, he must pursue the only woman he’s ever loved across, under and through the streets of modern-day New York.
On the brink of winning a seat in the U.S. Senate, ambitious politician David Norris (Damon) meets beautiful contemporary ballet dancer Elise Sellas (Emily Blunt). She’s a woman like none he’s ever known. But just as he realizes he’s falling for her, mysterious men conspire to keep the two apart.
David learns he is up against the agents of fate itself – the men of The Adjustment Bureau – who will do everything in their considerable power to prevent David and Elise from being together. In the face of overwhelming odds, he must either let her go and accept a predetermined path or risk everything to defy fate and be with her.
“The Adjustment Bureau” is written for the screen and directed by George Nolfi (writer of “Ocean’s Twelve” and co-writer of “The Bourne Ultimatum”). It is based on a short story by Philip K. Dick (“Total Recall,” “Minority Report” and “Blade Runner”).

Fate
We don’t control our fate, but we think we do. External things are happening every second that sway the way our lives turn out. Our fate is changing with each passing second, but we tell ourselves we’re in control to feel a sense of ultimate power over our lives. Fate is relative to the moment, and can change in an instant when you meet Emily Blunt (for example).
Do we control our own fate?
NO GOD DOES, BUT IF HE MAKES US PROPHETIC WE CAN CHOOSE TO AVOID THE PITFALLS OF THE PREMONITIONS!
Do we control our own fate?
How can we control our destiny or fate when we never had any control of our past?
We are all victims of circumstances. We all have limitations, borders, and boundaries that keep us from having any control. We have a tiny amount of control in the situations we create for ourselves, yet that has nothing to do with our unknown fate. When we come into this World none of us have any plans for our future. If we did,why would anyone choose hardship, misery, pain, illness, losses,or Death? All these things are unknown to us when we are infants. We partially learn from all our past experiences to a certain degree. But we never had any control of those past experiences either. Our future is an unknown mystery, our fate is our biggest mystery.Who really knows if death is, or isn’t the end? Who can come back from death then tell us if our fate ends, or continues after death? So,no one will ever know what their fate is,let alone have the power control it.Our biggest question in life is; what is life? Then our next question is what is fate? Does it even exist? Where is it? What is it? We will never know what fate is,or will we ever be able to control the unknown.
