The big media folks love to poke fun at things they know most of their readers will never see anyway. There’s no other reason for them to review these films other than to exercise their expensive educations. It’s a little like shooting fish in a barrel, though, to see a genre film and then criticize it’s genre elements. You don’t go to Transformers expecting to see Faust. Anyone, even those of us with a Big 10 education, can figure that out.
