Here is the synopsis for “Into the Abyss”:

In his fascinating examination of a triple-homicide case in Conroe, Texas, Werner Herzog probes the human psyche to explore why people kill – and why a state kills. In intimate conversations with those involved – including 28-year-old death-row inmate Michael Perry (who was scheduled to die eight days after his interview with Herzog) – the filmmaker achieves what he describes as “a gaze into the abyss of the human soul”.

Herzog’s inquiries also extend to the other convicted killer, Jason Burkett; his father, also incarcerated; a woman who lost both her mother and brother in the crime; as well as a chaplain and former executioner who’ve been with death-row prisoners as they’ve taken their final breaths. As he’s so often done before, Herzog’s investigation unveils layers of humanity and reveals an enlightening trip out of ominous territory.

Death penalty is wrong. You

Death penalty is wrong. You shouldn’t reciprocate what the criminal has done.Life sentence is much better than death penalty.

Death Penalty

I think the worse penalty is rotting in prison the rest of your life, but for some victim’s friend’s and family it is not enough.

Death Penalty

The thought of having to pay for your ‘sins’ is imperative. The threat of the death penalty is mandatory … bring it back!

Absolutely wrong

We should have moved long past the times of ‘an eye for an eye’ by now. There is no justifying taking taking away that which we do not possess the power to give back.

death penalty

so the question is; can you prove with absolute certainty that this person deserves to die? how society could be able to redeem itself with the death of an innocent person?……………..

Death penalty

I could see why death penalty looks right, but I would say it’s wrong only because our justice system has so many holes and many people who are innocent are convicted.Plus how someone’s death gonna make us feel better?!Life in prison is another story.

death penalty

I’m not sure. It depends on the crime and circumstances. Still, so many innocent people in jails now, and many possibly on death rown.

wrong. no man should have that much power, but God.

Is the death penalty right or wrong? Why?

That is a funny subject. It really depends on what method is used (drugs, electric chair, etc.) and what the offense was (murder, homicide, cereal killer, etc.)

Death penalty

Wrong. It sends the wrong message and gives the felon the easy way out.
