CHICAGO – After a few weeks of rumors that indicated the marriage between Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher was coming to an end, papers have been filed officially ending the relationship. Demi Moore (49) filed for divorce from her husband of six years, Ashton Kutcher (33), this afternoon.

Rumors of Kutcher’s infidelity started a few weeks back when tabloids and magazines claimed that Ashton had been cheating on Demi. Today, those rumors also seem to be true as Moore hinted at Ashton’s wrongdoings in her statement to the Associated Press:

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton. As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life,” Moore said. “This is a trying time for me and my family, and so I would ask for the same compassion and privacy that you would give to anyone going through a similar situation.”

Kutcher made his own statement via twitter, and luckily he understood the situation before tweeting and didn’t make another Joe Paterno mistake. “I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi,” Kutcher tweeted. “Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail.”
