Podtalk: Kristin Broadwell, Katia Gomez & Pam Tierney of Web Series ‘Vendors’
CHICAGO – Creating web TV series is one of the hottest show business pursuits of the moment, and the three creators and actors of Urban Doe Productions – Kristin Broadwell, Katia Gomez and Pam Tierney – are developing a show that has already had a Season One online. “Vendors” is the story of three women who develop a friendship while maintaining their lives and businesses. In Season One, the women met at an outdoor market. In Season Two, they will set up a storefront.

The Season Two project is currently in fundraising mode, as the three creators evolve the concept and characters, with the setting in Chicago. The main characters include Kristin Broadwell as Elizabeth Ann, a transplanted southerner and single mother. Katia Gomez is Alejandra (Alex), a Cuban-American from Miami who feels a bit out of her element in the Windy City. And Pam Tierney is Katherine, who was laid off from a high-powered corporate job, and is trying to jump start the next phase of her life. One of the goals of Urban Doe Productions is to primarily hire women for positions in front of and behind the camera, and to create – as their mission statement expresses – “female-driven projects with compelling stories…”
In the following Podtalk PART ONE, HollywoodChicago.com spoke to Kristin Broadwell, Katia Gomez and Pam Tierney regarding the development of “Vendors” and the balance between production, creating their characters and performing.
In PART TWO, the general topics of sexism in the entertainment industry are expanded upon and individual career questions are answered.
