CHICAGO – The late playwright August Wilson left a gift to the world in the form of his “American Century Cycle,” a series of plays each individually set in a decade of the 20th Century, focusing on the black experience. Chicago’s Goodman Theatre presents Wilson’s “Joe Turner’s Come and Gone,” now through May 19th, 2024 (click here).

CHICAGO – Get the couches ready and the soft pants on … it’s time to binge watch with Xfinity TV. In the week of April 8th through the 14th, 2019, Xfinity offers their seventh annual “Watchathon Week” to their customers, giving them an opportunity to catch up with thousands of movies and shows, including the entire series of “Game of Thrones,” in anticipation of its final season.
In total, thousands of TV and movie choices will be available during the weeklong free event, which has driven more than 340 million hours of on demand viewing over the last six years, and includes more than 70 networks and subscription video on demand (SVOD) services such as A&E, ABC, Acorn TV, Adult Swim, AMC Premiere, BET, Cartoon Network, CNN, Comedy Central, EPIX, FOX, Hallmark Movies Now, HBO, HGTV, HISTORY Vault, Lifetime Movie Club, Paramount Network, Showtime, TBS, TLC, TNT, truTV, True Royalty TV, Urban Movie Channel and VH1. Additionally, a selection of programming from networks and SVODs will be available for Internet-only customers to sample on the Xfinity Stream app and Xfinity Flex.

Besides “Game of Thrones,” HBO’s “Veep” and Showtime’s “Billions” will be available, as well as network fare such as NBC’s “This is Us.” Movies will also be available, including the latest digital releases like “Deadpool 2,” “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom,” “Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again,” “A Quiet Place” and “I Feel Pretty” through various subscription services (click link below for more information).
