The film is a re-enactment of the 1969 Chicago 7 trial, sometimes called the Chicago 8. This included Abbie Hoffman (Oscar-level performance by Sacha Baron Cohen), Jerry Rubin (Jeremy Strong), Tom Hayden (Eddie Redmayne) and Bobby Seale (Yahya Abdul Mateen II). The film is written and directed by Oscar winner Aaron Sorkin.

“The Trial of the Chicago 7” is opening in theaters on September 25th. See local listings for details. Will stream through Netflix on October 16th. Featuring Sacha Baron Cohen, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jeremy Strong, Eddie Redmayne, Yahya Abdul Mateen II, William Hurt, Frank Langella, and Michael Keaton. Written and directed by Aaron Sorkin.
