CHICAGO – Misty Rowe is a Country Music cultural icon, through her many years with TV’s “Hee Haw,” but she also portrayed Marilyn Monroe in “Goodbye, Norma Jean” (1976). She remembers it all in her new memoir, “Misty Memories.”
The 1970s sex symbol was beloved on the seminal country music and comedy show “Hee Haw,” which began on CBS-TV and moved to syndication for an unprecedented 19 years. She stayed on the show throughout that time, and worked also on the variation “Hee Haw Honeys” (with Kathie Lee Gifford). Her life, from modest beginnings with roots in Chicago, to the bright lights of portraying Marilyn Monroe (the first actress to do so), to all her behind-the-scenes TV/Film anecdotes (including “Happy Days”), are all present in her new book … written with Scot England and featuring a cover photo by Joe Arce of HollywoodChicago.com.
