Rating: 4.0/5.0

Hall portrays a teacher who has just suffered the suicide loss of her architect husband. She is left in the house that he designed and built, which starts to haunt her in a dream state. In conjunction with this haunting, she begins to discover secrets about her late husband that have a destructive effect on her memories of him, including an affair with a book clerk (Stacy Martin). The state between consciousness and unconsciousness in a house that invites both may be her undoing.

“The Night House” is in theaters on August 20th. Featuring Rebecca Hall, Sarah Goldberg, Stacy Martin, David Albedes and Vondie Curtis-Hall. Screenplay by Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski. Directed by David Bruckner. Rated “R”
