Podtalk: In-Person ‘Best of the Midwest’ Awards on Feb. 1, 2022

CHICAGO – Let’s kick off the film year by getting together! Using the safest protocols for gatherings, the Midwest Film Festival presents the Best of Midwest Awards on February 1st, 2022, and it will be an in-person event for the first time in three years. The event includes awards for ten categories, honoring the best of the 2021 Midwest Film Festival season … besides the expected designations (Actor, Actress, Director, Grand Prize for Film, etc.) there is also an Empowerment Award. The evening will include drinks, light appetizers, the Awards Ceremony and one of the first major networking opportunities in years. Ticket packages include General Admission and VIP levels. Once tickets are purchased, protocols will be sent to assure the safety of all the event attendees.

The Midwest Film Festival (formerly the Midwest Independent Film Festival) has been a staple in Chicago’s film community for 15 years. At the beginning of 2020, it reinvented with a new name and a new outlook, facilitated by new Executive Director Erica Duffy. Undaunted by the ongoing pandemic, it brought the Fest nights to Chi-Town Movies Drive-In and virtual events in keeping the Chicago film community together.
