The story is essentially that a young girl on the edge of adolescence (Ryan Kiera Armstrong) can start fires with her mind. The girl is the offspring of a genetic mutation between her psychic father (Zac Efron) and telekinetic mother (Sydney Lemmon, granddaughter of Jack). Because the girl can’t yet control her fire power, there will be some burnt out ends of smoky days.
